They Say I Say Structure Of Arguments

As a student in Critical Reading and Writing 111, I am expected to analyze arguments and write about them in a clear, well-formed, and well-supported essay. By the end of the course, I should be able to formulate essays that defend my own position in an argument through the process of drafting and revision. The “They Say/I Say” structure of argument should be considered and used throughout each time I write to express my own side, without overpowering the other side of the argument. I should anticipate a minimum of thirty pages per week to read and am expected to have at least two hours of outside work for every hour spent in class, adding up to at least six hours of work per week. I will also use evidence and proper formatting when writing to strongly support my statements. As a student, it’s also important to be on time and in class, so I will do my part to make sure that I’m in class regardless of any situation that might prevent me for being there otherwise. The attendance policy is clear, so I will be present in every class up to and including the last day of finals, unless there’s an emergency.
