Growing up I was constantly reminded to do more than whats expected by many women in different time of my life. I often heard my teachers refer to each other sorrors and addressed jokes about the strange embroidered letters on their jackets. Being only 10 and curious, I wanted to know the significance and meaning of the strange letters and defending them was so important. The conversation grew broader than the letters. I was informed about Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and the importance of taking risk, speaking up, sisterhood, and going beyond measure to ensure the needs of other were met.…
My interest for potentially becoming a part of the Psi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is based on the personal and professional development of its members and the social change that results in equality. I view Psi Theta Omega Chapter as a huge advocate for the metropolitan Orlando area when it comes to the community service and its involvement of its educational growth of its young ladies. These are a major focus that has sparked my interest in understanding what this Sorority does as a whole. I have always been an individual that loves serving the community being that I can make a change within someone’s life by helping them grow mentally and physically.…
Alpha Kappa Psi is an extraordinary experience I want to be in. There are so many parts about this fraternity the fascinate me. The part I like the best is the brotherhood every member shares. I like knowing there is always going to be someone there willing to lend you a hand and stick by your side no matter what. I am nice to everyone I talk to, but when I want to make a friendship; I want it to be something strong and long lasting.…

The first thing to is to identify the problem and the main concern of the parent, provider the parent of what will be a review, and to educate the parent of the factors of becoming a part of NHS. I do see that the teachers did say that they have several incidents with the student but, was it tracked? Mrs. Mills stated that she’s going to an attorney in regards of this so documentation is much more suffice. After identifying the parents full concern, talk to the committee to hear about the incidents that occur with the student. The sponsor of NHS, Mrs. Scott, did notify the principal because she recognized that the student excels in the academics but not in character.…

I have been involved in an array of organizations that have helped me develop as a leader. In the sixth grade, I joined the Technology Student Association at my school. TSA is an international student organization devoted entirely to the needs of students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, as well as business education. TSA has helped me grow as a student and it has given me the opportunity to serve as a leader in my school and within the association. While in middle school, I served as our chapter’s Reporter, Vice President, and President.…
Introduction I am a member of a Kappa Alpha Theta at Chapman University, and have recently considered running for a position. With the new slate of officers changing, positions were opening up once again and surprised as I was many of my peers encouraged me to run for a position. Due to studying abroad I couldn’t, however I am still debating whether or not to in the future.…
As Community Service Chair, I am in charge of finding volunteer opportunities, making sure that all the pledges are able to attend the event, and recording the service hours for each pledge. In addition to being a leader for my pledge group, I was able to associate with other members who have the same academic interest as me which is a great way to network. Being a pledge for Delta Sigma Pi has helped me reduce the stress I feel in my classes because I was able to get academic assistance on classes that I am struggling on. Being in a business fraternity has…
It has instilled in a passion for advocating for all students, especially the underrepresented. It also inspired me to venture my leadership in different organizations, including the African Student Association and Residence Life. I have also actively participated in the Trio Student Support services. These roles have given me a platform to advocate for the needs of students to be met. Furthermore, seeing my mentees succeed has inspired me to continue serving as a mentor as I find great joy seeing my fellow students succeed.…
Through student council I have worked closely with my teachers and advisors to better my school by bringing our student body together for events such as pep rallies and competitive games during homecoming week. I have also made great friendships with peers outside of my usual classrooms which has helped shape me into a well rounded person. With National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, we have bettered our community through projects such as a can food drive and buying Christmas gifts for children in need. National Honor Society has also helped me gain connections with our local Special Olympics where I volunteered this past year and plan to continue volunteering. As a member of Mu Alpha Theta, I helped to donate school supplies to children in need as well as a food drive and buying Christmas gifts for more children.…
Business Administration is a very broad field of study, and while we must have a concentration it is still difficult to decide what to focus on. That is why extracurricular activities can help with the decision process. My achievement of becoming a Vice-President of a top honor society on campus has allowed me to exert authority, learn to delegate, and overall be a mentor to our members. Through this…
According to Routon and Walker, there are both positive and negative outcomes of joining a sorority/fraternity during college and after. Positive effects include being more involved on campus and have higher paying jobs (mostly males) and more grad-school attendees than students who do not join Greek life. Although it does not directly correlate to GPA, students who were more involved in high school tend to join Greek organizations. Those who join fraternities and sororities often more involved on campus. Some negative effects of going Greek include more alcohol-consumption in college, more partying, and more and more alcohol consumption after college (mostly males).…
