Universal Statement: Marriage is a two way street revolved around true love between two individuals. In “The Other Wife” by Colette, Marc does not treat marriage seriously.

Thesis Statement: Marc and Alice’s uncomfortable sighting of Marc’s ex-wife presents to Alice that Marc’s ex-wife and her have very similar traits revealing that Marc replaced his ex-wife with Alice.

Topic Statement: Alice and Marc’s ex-wife both have blue eyes and look similar indicating that Marc picked Alice based off the appearance of his ex-wife.
