Support is important to succeed in surviving during troubling times. The memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, reveals the hardships and suffering endured by the Jews during the Holocaust. In many instances, Elie Wiesel wishes to give up. He contemplates, “God knows what I would have given for a few moments of sleep. But, deep down, I felt that to sleep meant to die. And something within me revolted against this death”(Wiesel 95). It is possible that Elie wanted to survive because he wanted to be with his father.
