Malcolm Little also known as Malcolm X was born on May 19,1925 in Omaha Nebraska. He was a human rights activist he fought against racism in the U.S. He went through a lot of phases in his life one particularly was religion he was born baptist then he was a member of the Nation of Islam then he went to Sunni Islam for the rest of his Life. But on February 21, 1965 he was assassination at the age 39 while giving a speech.
Born in Omaha Nebraska Malcolm was the fourth out of seven kids. His dad was a Baptist lay speaker that caused “Trouble”. After threats from the the Ku Klux Klan the family moved to Milwaukee,Wisconsin then after a short period of time the family moved to Lansing,Michigan. There family was often harassed by the black legion a white racist group then the family house burned down in 1929 they believed that it was the black legion burned it down. Because of her having a mental breakdown the kids were separated into different foster homes. Malcolm was doing great in middle school but dropped out. After that he lived with his half sister in boston while doing a variety of jobs. In 1943 he moved to Harlem, New York there he became involved in crime and then after that he moved back to Boston where he robbed a lot rich families. Then in 1946 he was arrested and he went to jail for a eight to ten year sentence there his siblings wrote about the Nation of Islam which is a political religious movement that has some characteristics from Islam but also incorporate their own. Shortly after Malcolm joined the nation of islam. Then he met with Elijah Muhammad the leader of the Nation of Islam and was appointed a minister and built new temples for worship. He also recruited new members for the nation of islam. He increased the members from 1,200 to
