I chose dreaming patterns and interpretations because it is a topic that has interested me for as long as I can remember. What do they mean and where do they come from? I was always fascinated by these movies that played in our heads while we are sleeping and wondered how people with physical and mental disorders dream, and if they dream differently. Are there any pattern variations from the people without disabilities, and how does this affect the presentation of the symbols?
My specific topic focuses on the symbols present while dreaming and questions the patterns recorded in sleep studies performed on patients with different mental and physical disabilities. I will analyze information recorded by professionals from different studies on patients with eating disorders or Parkinson’s disease, for example, and try to find any common patterns that are presented in the different types of patients.

According to National Institute of Mental health, “Symptoms of [sic] ASD vary from one child to the next, but in general, they fall into two areas: Social impairment, including difficulties with social communication, [sic] and repetitive and stereotyped behaviors” (ASD).
Karen Springer writes about sleeping disorders present in children and states, “They can stem from physical problems (like common ear infections), psychological problems (like attention deficit hyper-activity disorder or abuse), bad dreams or poor "sleep hygiene" (from irregular bedtimes)” (pg.
