The scene beginning with Quince reading the prologue. Then in the background Theseus, Lysander and Hippolyta talk about how horrible the prologue was said. Quince continues with the prologue explaining to the audience what the play is about. Then the actor playing the wall enters and Theseus and Demetrius make fun of the actor. The play continues with Pyramus and Thisbe talking to each other through a hole in the wall. The audience laugh and continue to make fun of the play saying that it is the silliest thing they have ever seen. When Pyramus and Thisbe finish talking a lion enters the play and gives the audience a speech. Then enters moonshine and the audience make fun of it too. Then Pyramus appears and sees Thisbe’s robe drained in blood and assumes that she is dead and kills himself later Thisbe comes and sees her love dead and she too kills herself.

Although in the the text the theme of love is a bit happier and filled with humor it is still very similar to the theme in the lines. These lines are all about love and a couple that wants to be happy. Just like in the text the couples want to be happy and they do anything to make it happen. But in this case Pyramus and Thisbe die instead of having a happy ending like other characters did in the play.
