Have you ever thought about living in the future or on another planet. In this essay I will be comparing the themes from the to short stories called,” There will come soft rains’’, and,” All summer in a day” by Ray Bradbury.
Both stories have a strong connection to nature which is overpowering. From the story,” There will come soft rains”, the quote,” Robins will wear their feathery fire, Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire”, shows that nature is overpowering by the author making the robin in the quote sound like it doesn’t care that an atomic bomb had just wiped out everybody in allendale california. Another quote that also shows this theme is,” Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree, If mankind perished utterly”, by this quote mentioning that no one would care about nature if there were no more humans on earth which in my opinion means that nature will keep growing, with or without humans. …show more content…
In,” All summer in a day”, the quote,” And then, of course, the biggest crime of all was that she had come here only five years ago from earth, and she remembered the sun and the way the sun was and the sky was when she was four in Oohio”, reflects that time plays a pivotal role in both stories because in my opinion where it says she had only come here five years ago from earth, makes it sound like they’re on another planet which from my knowledge I know that people are not able to survive other planets yet.
