“There Will Come Soft Rains” is a short story written by Ray Bradbury that depicted a former Utopian town that had been hit by an atomic bomb, the theme of this story is that no matter how perfect everyone thinks life is it could all be taken away, and that technology can distract us, or keep us from thinking too much about bigger issues. First and foremost, Bradbury shows a perfect family being blown away by the atomic bomb, leaving their outlines in the paint (Bradbury). This shows the family doing normal, commonplace things and obviously not expecting anything to happen to them.
