Similarities:In the poem “There Will Come Soft Rain” and “The Sound Of Night” the mood of both of the poems is tranquil and delightful. In “There Will Come Soft Rain”, the poem starts out saying all the good thing that comes with spring and all the things people look forward in spring. In the poem “The Sounds Of Night” it uses onomatopoeia to describe the peaceful sound of night.

Differences: At end of “There Will Come Soft Rain”, the poem shifts to a more grim mood that talks about the death and destruction of the human race that everything left will care about or notice.
