As a boy matures into a teen, they are exposed to materials that expand their knowledge of the world. Scientific studies show that boys are naturally “turned on” by women. Boys could bring inappropriate magazines to show the other students which puts some kids at risk because their parents would not want their child being exposed to that kind of material. That causes problems because the parent would probably get the school in trouble, which opens other doors to suing and more. If schools search the bags/lockers, no items like that would be able to get through. Admittingly, searching a student’s belongings is an invasion of privacy to most people. Most students wouldn’t bring such things to school, but there is still a risk that bad stuff will be inside the school. That is the weakness to this. Schools are home to students who a lot of students and if an item/items would risk the safety of those students, then schools should have the ability to search the bags/lockers. Ultimately, schools should have the right to search according to all these reasons. The safety of students comes first, above everything else.
