1st Samuel brings to light how celebratory dance is used in the Bible. “Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and with musical instruments(bible).” This passage clearly states that dancing was used as a form of celebration when King David returned from killing Palestine. This passage can represent dancing that takes place during homecoming week at Bethel not in the way of murder, like this passage, but the idea that we celebrate the arrival of our football team, with no intentions to act in a sinful way. Like the woman who came out to celebrate the act of King David killing Palestine. The book of Psalms also has many examples that reference dance, especially when it comes to praising God. I view worship to be one form of dance that is not sinful; but rather a form of praise to our creator. For instance, in the church there is always a group of people who are really into the worship, they have their hands in the air, and sometimes swinging and jumping for the Lord. We covered what my personal beliefs are, and definitions of the culture that surrounds dance in the society that we are in today. Lastly, we covered the experiences that I have gotten the chance to experience over the 20 years that I have been alive.
