Introduction
Clinical governance has been described variously in the literature. In essence it is the system through which the governing body, managers, and clinicians of an organisation share responsibility and are held accountable, for continuously improving the quality of their services, and safeguarding high standards of care. This is achieved by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish.

Customers have the right to expect safe and high quality services and access to the information they need to help make decisions regarding the services they receive. If Therapy Focus is to offer the highest quality clinical care, it must also work in partnership with its customers. This happens at an individual level in the relationship between the customer and their clinical team, and at an organisational level through the Parent Reference Group, and parent representation on the Board.

Skilled Clinicians and Structure
Skilled clinicians are pivotal in helping customers to achieve the outcomes they expect, and require the support of the organisation through professional development and management, clinical supervision, and robust systems and processes. The structure of the clinical services division is designed to provide this support through small multi-disciplinary teams of clinicians, each led by a clinical team leader.
