I also chose to use the teach back method for evaluating if Tina has met the objectives after receiving her discharge instructions. The method I highly recommend and use religiously in my daily care of patients. Tamura-Lis (2013) explains that effective communication between a clinician and their patient, a clear understanding of a patient's literacy level, and the use of teach back method are useful tools in helping patients better understand their medical conditions.
