When friends and family are being treated for cancer they may have experienced many symptoms. Ranging from depression, loss of appetite, confusion, and exhaustion. Some effects from treatment can cause behaviors that are counterproductive in the recovery. For example, not drinking enough water because of sleeping throughout a day, can easily cause dehydration. Examination of a suspicious mass found on a dog can be done by veterinarian. When a dog is diagnosed with cancer typically one of three stages are the results, neoplasia without nutritional complication, neoplasia with anorexia, or neoplasia with cachexia (Wakshlag and Kallfelz 409). To determine if a dog’s tumor is cancerous a biopsy may be done on the tissues. They may want to remove some of the fluid in the mass and then the fluid sample is analyzed microscopically for characteristics of cancer cells.
