Simon Smith stated, “Theories exist about how cloning may lead to a cure for heart attacks, a revolution in cosmetic surgery, organs for organ transplantation, and predictions abound about how cloning technology will save thousands of lives.” Therapeutic cloning will bring medical breakthroughs that we’ve never had before. Many adults aren’t able to have children and cloning will give them another option of having their own child. Also, cloning will be able to save animals from extinction and possibly bring back animals that are extinct. Taxpayers money should be used to fund therapeutic cloning since it will benefit the world greatly.
Cloning will allow infertile couples to have children of their own. This is one of the many ways that cloning can benefit the world. About 10% of women (6.1 million) can’t get pregnant or stay pregnant and about 15% of couples are infertile. “Worse, being infertile is often not considered a “real medical problem” and insurance companies and governments are not sympathetic. The current options for infertile couples are painful, expensive, and heart-breaking,” (Smith 1). These couples have the choice of surrogacy, adopting, fostering, or have an egg
