It is generally agreed that leadership style implies a leader’s behavior viz-a-viz the way he provides direction, implements plan and motivate people.
In analyzing my leadership style, there’s need to consider background and philosophy. I’m compassionate in nature and with a dominant C Quadrant, the HBDI assessment lent credence to this. I tend to concentrate on the ‘who’ rather than ‘what’, by this I mean that a leader can bring out the best in people by first understanding their psychology and this goes a long way in suggesting to me the attitude of a team member towards his job.
Therefore, I’m in consonance with Theory Y as propounded by Douglas McGregor and quoted by Peter G. Northouse, that people are self-motivated and will seek and accept

This to me can only thrive in a scenario where the leader is grossly incompetent.

Starting from this moment, I have already identified areas I need to strengthen and begin immediately to work on them.
Secondly, to get to the leadership height that I desire, there’s need for interpersonal grooming. By this I mean building relations and acquiring knowledge about effective teamwork by engaging in volunteer activities and joining meet-Up groups. Engaging more in public speaking by joining Toast Masters so as to practice and improve verbal communication.
Furthermore, I hope to build and expand analytical thinking skill by engaging in real life projects and by becoming political savvy through watching more of TV channels like NPT and reading newspapers and magazines.
It is my desire to be a change agent in any organization I’m involved with by introducing ideas and bringing change through such ideas.
Community engagement is a very important leadership development strategy for me as I intend to do a lot of mentoring in my community and also share ideas with people of diverse culture on how to improve our
