Suicide is seem to depend on the integration between domestic and political society. In this chapter Durkheim begins to express about how it is more likely for an un married person to commit suicide , but he does not understand why because he believe that a single person might have it easier than a married couple. Durkheim mentioned thought that France in 1873 through 1878 “there were 16,264 suicides of married persons while unmarried persons had only 11,709” (Durkheim 171). In this chapter police officer Bertillon shares his data regarding studies all labeled by men, women, age ranking, and civil states. Tables show that it was very likely for single and widowed men to commit suicides between the ages of 50 to 70.
