The third story is of two high school friends, Ron and Tammy who went to a party and had a not so fun night. Tammy was preparing for Ron to come stay the weekend with her and since she didn’t have a second roommate she made up the extra bed for him to stay in. They went to a party where they both got immensely drunk and decided to head back to her dorm. When they got to her room instead of getting into the bed she made for him, he climbed into her bed where she was laying. He climbed on top of her and began to forcefully grabbing her face and kissing her, biting her lip to the point of blood. April went to the fair for her sixteenth birthday with two of her friends which is where she met Andy. He had told her that he was also in high school, they exchanged numbers and then began to date. They had broken up when April’s parents found out that Andy was actually in college and had lied about his age. Although April thought they were over and done talking to one another, Andy continued to stalk her via social media and her friends which is known as proxy stalking. This is very common in domestic violence situations and according to several credible estimates, at least half of the women who end abusive relationships are later followed, harassed or threatened by their abuser (Berry). Stalking involves a pattern of harassing, following or other acts that are deliberated, unwanted and create a credible threat” (textbook). A few years later, April went to college, one that happened to be the next town over from Andy. In October, April went to a party in Salem with a few friends for her birthday. This ended up being a set-up by Andy to get April alone. Andy and his friends kept handing April and her friend’s alcohol until they were all very intoxicated and April’s two friends left. Before April could leave she had to find her phone and purse so she asked around until someone told her they were in the bedroom down the hall so nobody would take them. April went to the room and before she could exit, was locked in there with Andy who was blocking the door. Andy took her by her throat and pushed her against the wall threatening to hurt her is she was loud. When he went to go take her clothes off someone knocked on the door saying they needed something from the room which presented April with an opportunity to leave.
