One theorist that influenced my planning is Jerome Bruner with his constructivst approach to learning. Bruner believed that children should become active learners through hands-on activities and instruction due to the importance of learning new concepts. By being an active learners, children are then able to build on their previous knowledge to construct new ideas about the information they are being exposed to. I have

They will also be intellectually engaged through creating their own graph with multiple rows as a class. I will communicate my expectations for the student's behavior before each instruction is given and when the lesson is beginning. For example, when the students are being sent back to their desks to complete the “extra practice” worksheet, they will be told to get their pencils and math workbooks out and sit quietly at their desks. I will follow up on behavior expectations by allowing the students to fix their behavior for the activity if they are struggling. If students are unable to follow instructions and behave properly, they will be asked to take a break by the wall of the classroom. I believe I am engaging my learners well due to the hands-on activity that I have planned and by allowing different choices for them to chose for putting on the class

In Chapter Four of Holler If You Hear Me by Gregory Michie, the author describes how some of the other veteran teachers in his education classes expressed their views on the disconnect between education theory and classroom reality. In theory, this practice is a great way to tailor instruction to each student’s individual needs, as well as encourage learning and exploration.…

Therefore, the teacher must keep in mind the negative behavior that cannot occur the same time as the positive behavior. One example of finding the incompatibility of behavior is sitting at the desk vs. wandering in the classroom. When the student is reinforced of the positive behavior they are supposed to be doing at the given time, they will have a positive behavior to act upon replacing the negative behavior. It is also important to know the student and take notes of the types of reinforcement inadvertently received when ding the problem behavior. Hence, it is like trial and error to figuring out what kind of reinforcement would work best for the student to achieve the desired…

I evaluate the progress of students’ learning two times during the semester and also use some web-based technologies to get students’ feedback from time to time to improve their learning, keep them engaged, and help them remain motivated. I provide students opportunities to express themselves in the class and discuss subject matters as well as their strengths, contradictions, and ability to handle criticism and integrate feedbacks in their learning. I try to create a welcoming classroom, communicate clear expectations, provide timely and constructive feedback, present information in a variety of methods, and provide alternate ways for students to demonstrate competence and learn well. I also try to find natural support for students in the class by pairing them with other students to enhance their learning and creativity.…
