That made me happy.”(Theodore Pg. 73) As Theodore gulps a whole beer bottle before he opens the door, he is hesitant in making his way to the door with his uncertainty underlying his curiosity if this may work or be a complete disaster. When Theodore gives the camera and the earpiece to the surrogate she is now playing the role of Samantha. When the beautiful surrogate caresses Theodore while Samantha speaks through his earpiece, “it feels so good to be in your arms.” Theodore’s facial expression is clearly in a frame of mind that this is not morally right with his eyebrows squinting in confusion and beyond belief. Theodore refused and she walked away. As he lays on his bed, he was reminiscing about how his date was wonderful, but sadly ended because he did not want to commit in partaking a relationship. Samantha connected with Theodore telling him that he went through a rough time and she expressed herself about her awareness in her virtual reality, Samantha gave Theodore an uprising from his depressed state of mind. While Theodore confronts his personal life he is slowly moving away from his past. Samantha is now his knight and shining armor for his unhappy days and she brings him hope and finding something new, a sense of happiness. Theodore feels that Samantha is now the bright light at the end of his tunnel. In relation to Turkle’s article, people like Theodore needs an outside outlet to recover from their unhappiness, a place like the cyber world gives the opportunity to reestablish their personal frame of who they are as a
