The best U.S. President was Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th, 1858. Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt did a lot of good things during his presidency that made some people think he was the best U.S. president. One of the first things that Roosevelt did when he first became president, was that he wanted to start construction of the Panama Canal. However, Panama was under Colombian rule at the time. Roosevelt used his Big Stick diplomacy, which was that the Big Stick referred to the U.S Navy. If the country he tried to negotiate with didn't want to negotiate, then he used his navy as a way to force them to comply. Colombia didn't want the canal to be built, and so Roosevelt helped the Panamanians revolt and become
