Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27th, 1858 in New York. As a young boy he was interested in natural history and sports. After attending Harvard University he got elected to the New York State Assembly, where he served two terms. He unexpectedly became the 26th president of the US after the assassination of William McKinley. Through many hardships and losses, Theodore Roosevelt still managed to turn the United States in the correct direction by helping them push through the Spanish-American war and preparing the country for World War I.

He wrote the article by taking Theodore Roosevelt’s notes and transferring them into this article, meaning all the information is accurate and directly from Roosevelt. The article’s main focus is about Theodore’s presidential period and why he even decided to run for vice president. The audience of this article is mostly for scholars that are interested in how and why Theodore came into politics. The author came to the conclusion that Theodore Roosevelt got fed up with President William Howard after his trip to Africa and wanted to try to change everything, but failed.
