Fruitful bearing are inevitable in this country but so are the problems that come with that prosperity. Our heirs faced perils that have already been outgrown but now it is our time to face them because is it something that is unavoidable. Roosevelt acknowledges the industrial improvement in our country and because of that “modern life is complex and intense” and shall see great prosperity. But if we fail, other nations views of free self-government will change and we would have an even heavier burden than we had been given before. We should not fear the future but we should face it seriously and solve problems first hand.
Roosevelt concludes his address by explaining that we the Americans must not leave this heritage that we were so graciously given wasted but instead enlarged and pass it on to our children and so on so that this legacy is passed on and not destroy the handiwork that our ancestors have created.
