Theodore Roosevelt was the true image of what a leader should be. He possessed the qualities of a good leader but not only that, a Christian leader. Many qualities are taken into account when you look for an effective leader, but three really stick out from the rest; motivated, personable, and determined. Christian leaders possess these qualities but also others as well. Christian leaders have integrity, they are loving, and they are imitable. Theodore Roosevelt was an assertive leader who let his vision be known. He took the initiative in most situations and was wise in knowing that he needed help, and could not do everything on his own.

Scripture is full of different qualities that a leader should possess but there are a few in particular that stick out. A Christian leader is someone who is imitable and who's actions deserve to be imitated. In 1 Corinthians 4:16 it states, "Therefore I urge you to imitate me," (New International Version 1984) and this leads you to believe that a leader should always live an imitable life. Christian leaders also have integrity. They can be trusted and expected to be honest. Proverbs 10:9 says, "Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out," (English Standard Version). This verse is telling that if we lie and cheat these things will be discovered. If we have integrity people will trust us and honor us and a leader needs those two things in order to be successful. All throughout the Bible it tells us that we should love and honor everyone so it goes without saying that having love for your followers would be a very important quality to have. John 13:34 tells us, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another," (English Standard Version). If a leader does not love their followers and is not honestly concerned with their well-being then are they truly a Christ-like
