Themes Of Stolen

Decent Essays
There aren’t as many themes to this book, “Stolen”, then you would think there would be. These are just 3 main themes of the book that I have noticed. If you want to look for more themes within the book, I suggest reading it.
One of my main themes about this book is trust. This is one of the themes because Gemma was in a situation where she had no idea who to trust. First, she trusted her parents with her helping her with life even though they were always too busy at their jobs. Next, she trusted her friends more than her parents and started drinking in a park late at night. Then she started to trust Ty because she thought that he was cute and wanted to kiss him at the airport when they first met face to face(even though he is 9 years older

Short Critical Response “How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents” In the book, “How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents”, by Julia Alvarez shows the lives of four sisters who struggle with finding their own identities in American culture. The four girls named Carla, Sandra, Yolanda and Sofia were forced to move out of the Dominican Republic when they were young girls and now struggle to adapt to a new culture that is much different from their social norms. The elements of the text that I thought were the most significant was a quote that Alvarez states, "She has been too frightened to carry out any strategy, but now a road is opening up before her. She clasps her hands on her chest—she can feel her pounding heart—and nods.…

Title: “Taming The Star Runner” The title makes me wonder what kind of horse The Star Runner was. It sparks my interest and makes me also wonder how he tamed the Star Runner. The title fits well with the book because in the book the main character was untamable like the Star Runner. I was excited to read another S.E. Hinton book.…

I chose these three themes to write about because they are the most important and they show they show us, the readers, how they can really effect or change many people’s lives. The novel begins by one of the characters, Elaine O’Dea, immediately stating that Alice Franklin, another girl in the book slept with two guys in one night! (Mathieu 1) Since Elaine says that the readers get the hint that Alice is a girl who gets around with a bunch of guys.…

As we all know, the theme of a story is the lesson that is being taught throughout the novel. But a theme can also be the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, or a person's thoughts. All stories have a theme, but they may not always be directly stated. This requires readers to dig deep down into the text and analyze the lessons that they have acquired through the book. Between the two excerpts, "Angelas Ashes" and "The Street", there is common theme that perseverance is important when times get tough in life.…

Many different themes reoccur through the play, three of which are; trust, belief and being your self. In Lord of the Flies, the main themes that I noticed are; betrayal, bravery, survival, and fear. During the book, Ralph gets betrayed many times by Jack, someone who he believed was going to be his friend, the ending of the book is really when it comes to light. Also the next three themes exist throughout the entire book and are noticeable in every characters. The themes I noticed in The Maze Runner were; friendship, order, and fear. The theme of friendship is probably the main theme that I saw, all of the boys have to be friends in order to survive and to get back to civilization.…
