Just 70 years ago, 6 million Jewish people were slaughtered in the Holocaust solely because of their religion. The novel Night by Elie Wiesel is a memoir recollecting the horrific experiences Wiesel faced while in the concentration camp, Buchenwald. During the Holocaust, Wiesel and his family were subjected to the cruel torture of the Nazis. When Wiesel and his family first arrived at the concentration camp they were split into groups based on their age and gender. Wiesel and his father were sent into the labor camp while Wiesel’s mother and sisters were sent to the crematorium. From that point on Wiesel’s life and outlook on life was changed forever.
