“Of Mice and Men” is a novel written by John Steinbeck around the year 1937. The story is about two friends, Goerge Milton and Lennie Small, that stay together in all situations they face. Both of them have one achievement, to fulfill their dream. Throughtout the story you will see themes such as: friendship, companionship and dream (goals). All the themes are connected in some way, and all of them reflex on George and Lennie. The theme of friendship, is shown since the begging of the story, when both characters walk one beside the other on the road. George treats Lennie as a younger brother who is still learning, and he always tries not to shout at Lennie knowing the impact that it will have on him. As a consequence of the internal protection and carrying that George presents, Lennie as a sign of gratefulness would do everything in his will to …show more content…
“An’ I got you. We got each other…”, this sentence said by George clearly show how important they are for each other. The championship that they have is “one of a kind”, which makes some of the men in his job recognize, that in one way, is extremely especial and hard to find. In a world where men are used to be by themselves and look for company in games or just in conversations during their work time, Goerge and Lennie complete each other with company and share dreams and goals together. As two citizens and humans, Goerge and Lennie shared more than friendship but a dream. “Live of the fat land”. They wanted to have their own place where they didn´t depend on anyone. Dream in the story isn´t just a noun, it reflects on the person. That after all hard work, on the end of the day the individual, in this case the principal characters, have something that will make them continue day by day to achieve what they really want.
