Summary
See How They Run is situated at England in the 1940’s during WWII. The play is about an ex-actress, Penelope Toop, who recently married reverend Lionel and is being criticized by Mrs. Skillon who is a religious follower. Mrs. Skillon believes Penelope is having an affair with Clive who is a former friend of Penelope and also currently enrolled in the army. Lionel leaves his home to attend a concert and during that time Penelope and Clive get together and prepare themselves to go out. Proscenium Stage I decided to use a Proscenium Stage because the play needed spacious set given that there is a lot of running through the play. A Proscenium Stage would allow us to set all the furniture and sets in a spacious manner. We also use a wall to separate the kitchen from the living room and we are only able to make that without blocking anyone’s view with a Proscenium Stage.
Ground Plan The ground plan is very spacious and has very selected furniture. As an Amish community the houses are very simple, humble and spacious. Amish communities do not use electricity; instead they use fire and natural sources for light.
