Red Queen Character Analysis

“Words can lie.” It is unknown who said this quote. Mare Barrow the main character arrives at the Silver Palace, the Silvers Palace is for the people whose blood is Silver. Mare meets Cal the first silver prince and Maven the second silver prince, Mare has to marry Maven because she is the Red princesses because Mare has red blood. Maven tells Mare lies and when she finds out it is far too late, Mare and Cal then have to fight for their lives. In the novel Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, a theme doesn’t trust people for who they say they are, which is developed by the character Maven and Mara, the setting the Silver Palace in the arena, and the plot events when Maven betrays Mare and plans to have her and Cal executed. Maven betraying Mare Barrow developed the theme by Mare trusting Maven and falling in love with him.Mare Barrow was feeling safe and that he could protect her and she could protect him, she felt like if they ever need someone to lean on, it would be them. Mare was slowly falling in love with Maven she thought she knew him but she didn’t once she found out she regretted everything, she wanted to go back she wanted to marry Cal, not Maven.
