Racism In The Film Jafar

I have chosen to explore the theme “Every individual in the society is judged from their race but not their heart and capability. As there is always harm caused to the victim and culprit.” The theme is evidential in the short film Jafar by Nancy Spetsiotio as it shows that there is always harm caused in racism as misjudges others. The theme is evidential in the song I’m Not Black, you’re Not White by Prince Ea as it shows that everybody is only judged according to their race but not their abilities which creates conflict in the world. The theme is also evidential in the short film vulnerable by Fred Bouchal Films as it shows how people in society judge people by race which more harm for the culprit than the victim. It shows that the race of a person doesn’t mean anything or show anything about a person. The poem also shows that what every individual in society are unsuccessful to understand each other. People make instant decisions just by each other’s physical look, they don’t look at their heart or personality. The theme is “Every individual in the society is judged from their race but not their heart and capability. As there is always harm caused to the victim and culprit.” The theme is shown throughout the text as shows people who are receiving racist comments should stay strong and fight back as if people don’t start to do defend racism will develop more. The theme is also shown in the text as it shows that judging people from information that they have about the race can hurt people a lot of individuals are judged on the information that people don’t know about which really hurts the person deep inside as they are discriminated for what people think they are. The theme is shown in the dialogue “To know me you have to learn me, for my skin is a part of me. But it is not everything of who I am.” The quote clearly shows that an individual is always seen from their skin colour which is a part of theme but is not a part of their characteristics. Just because of the race people are under estimated and stopped from succeeding which becomes their biggest barrier later in life. This shows the concept that people follow is incorrect as people are judging each other by their cover, society doesn’t care about the inner qualities of people. The author want to show that every person is equal as at the end of the day everybody to one race which is humanity as we all have the same basic features in our bodies.
