Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry was full of meaningful themes and messages. The struggles the Logan family faced were upsetting, but the way the Logans handled their problems was inspiring. While reading the book, I was shocked with what was deemed acceptable at the time. When the bus driver purposely splashed Cassie and the other black people that walked to school, it angered me; a grown man who bullied kids just because he could made me feel terrible. All of the struggles the Logans (and others!) endured throughout the entire book opened my eyes.
