Theme Statement For Tangerine

The theme statement is that people should not be selfish just because they are cool. The theme of the book "Tangerine" is a mix of emotions because of his brother Erik is getting lots of attention from his dad, Lake Windsor Middle School did not allow Paul Fischer to be goalie because the coach thinks Paul can't see well. Paul got very excited because of the miracle toward the end of part 2 when there was a giant sinkhole that ate the school, because he wanted to go to Tangerine Middle School, so instead of being a water boy on the soccer team and he could be the goalie.
