I personally would like to see group therapy for kids starting middle school. Again, people say, “what, are you, crazy?” no, I’m not crazy you could use a 12-step model for group sharing that would give these children an outlet, (p. 136)” the boys in The Outsiders would have had a outlet of some kid for there anger and aggression the may have became better young adults and many of them could have spared their lives. She also continues to say “all children, to share their emotions, to share their frustrations, to learn to talk about being angry and to talk about why they’re angry, without acting on their anger. (p. 136)” Many people don’t understand how exactly this would help. Middle school is a difficult time for adolescent teens and having the stress of living in a lower class family, or a violent environment. The Greasers are not just the bad boy always in trouble with the law kinds of boys that everyone thinks that they are. They are a group of boys that have and are saving each other. They may get into trouble sometimes and aren’t the most honest living ones out there but without each other they may very well be much worse off then they were. Many things would have been different with or without all of them being together such as, Darrel wouldn’t have taken his two younger brothers Ponyboy and Sodapop into his custody. They may have ended up in foster care with a better or even worse environment, than what they were living in prior to. There are many unknowns about this story, but it is known that without the brotherhood with in this group of boys they wouldn’t have learn the meaning of brotherhood and
