The trailer, for the biopic film Stronger, establishes the theme of universal struggle through a wide variety of tones.
As the trailer opens, the director attempts to develop a tone of friendliness but also heartbreak. The tone of friendliness is found at the scene of the bar and the willingness of the main character Jeff to be there for his friend Erin. The guitar rift also develops this tone because it is upbeat and fun.
