Family is important to one’s culture because it is what you're born into, decides who you become. In the story Two Ways to Belong in America, Baharati leaves her family to go to America.Family is what makes yp a part of your culture, part of Baharati and Mira’s culture is their dad picks their husband. Family teaches you about your culture and traditions. “Bharati married an American Canadian and Mira married an Indian guy” they both married the guy their father did not choose. Family and culture is what decides who you are and how your family is important to your culture.
