Annie is haunted by her father, which is clearly a use of supernatural elements such as ghosts and angels. Instead of getting scared she tries to understand her situation. The story is not reliable, which could mean that she only tries to understand her situation in a parallel world that is a product of her mind. Her loss of her family has been hard for her and she still tries to understand. Her father therefore helps her to understand and keep her safe until she fully understands. He is her father and he loves her, and shows it through his support to her, which could be in a parallel world. When she sees the whole family together even though her family is death she achieve understanding. ““You found them,” I said. “I did,” Daddy said.
