Darcy’s as well as Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley’s as the ideal types of marriage. More so, I believe that both relationships are the same in certain ways the difference being that Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingley’s was more practical and likely to occur. I also believe she thought of Jane and Mr. Bingley as more ideal considering she used her own name for the female character. In a way she could be signifying what she wished to have or what she thought she deserved. I also think Jane Austen believed that marriage should be for love and both peoples’ wishes and not for someone outside of the marriage. I believe Austen thought marriage should be this way because of how much more detail she put into these relationships rather than the relationship between Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins considering their engagement is only spoken of once and their life together is only seen once. In my opinion, Austen saw that honesty, commonalities, companionship, and love pertained to an ideal
