The way people communicate in relationships has the ability to terminate the relationship or cause major issues. Not always is it based on the communication in the relationship, but also the quality of life an individual is living. Quality communication has the capability of effecting a relationship and the person’s life. Quality communication plays an important role in daily lives and it showed in the movie Midnight in Paris. This paper will explore what quality communication is, how this concept played out in the movie Midnight in Paris in the relationship Gill had with Inez and the relationship he had with Adriana, and how we were able to see quality communication comes together when the individuals part ways at the end of the movie. Whenever they had conversations, she wanted to know more about Gill and always had plenty of eye contact. These engaged conversations keep the audience interested and wanting to know where the two characters will go to next. Adriana and Gill are both interested in what the other person is saying and they let each other talk. There is no cutting one another off and this is much healthier. I also think Adriana admires what Gill is doing and when he talks she is interested in him and no one else. For example, in the movie when Gill was talking about his book and she was so interested and engaged to figure out what the story was about. This shows that Adriana was intrigued to figure out what Gill was doing and her interest allowed for their conversations to have better quality than those that he had with Inez. These ideas also show that their life quality together, which is very good, effects the communication they are able to have with one another.
