In the 3-4 lines it says “ Could not, would fortune grant it name it's wish wants nothing everything.” At 13 you have no clue what you really want. They want nothing important to the real world but they want materialistic things that mean everything to them. This stanza creates a conflicting mood because it's showing how this age is very complicated age. In line 7 it says “owns half a hundred mask but no disguises and walks upon its heels” I think what the author is trying to say in this line is that who they are trying to be doesn't define who they really are at the age of thirteen they could have many different personalities. Being the age thirteen you’re trying to find out who you really are and on that journey you maybe have different “mask” until you find your true self.
