The play Antigone by Sophocles questions the sense of morality or the divine laws in the society against the significance of the state or the civil laws. The orchestration of the two issues in the play is achieved through the characterization of the characters Creon, the King of Thebes and Antigone, a heroine protagonist in the play. It is clear in the play that the character Antigone willfully risks her life to fulfill her moral and social decency, religious and family duty of burying her brother Polynices.
