Theme Of Messenger

“Messenger” by Lois Lowry is about a young boy learning life lessons and how to face them. Matty is wanting to earn the name messenger throughout the story and he would do anything to get the name. Throughout the book the two themes are to accept others for who they are and not to judge them and the second was compassion. When Matty went into the forest to go get kira he realized he had a leg problem and he judge her for it and he realized that he shouldn't have judge her for her disability. The other theme is compassion,matty ventured out into the woods to find kira for seer. Matty did this out of kindness for seer.

The theme imperfection is perfection is the first theme In the story Messenger. This theme is shown mainly throughout the end of the book when Matty goes into the deep forest to save kira. Matty judges her for her hurt leg and judged her for having to use a cain. Once Matty said this mentor instantly told him that you should never judge someone based on how they look. Once matty realized this he instantly realized he that could make someone fell and instantly stopped. Leader

Matty shows compassion for seer when he ventures out into the forest to go save his daughter kira. Matty did this as a favor to seer for all the things seer does for him and of course seer couldn’t go get kira even if he tried because he is blind. Matty knows that what he's doing is dangerous since the forest isd closing very soon so matty had to be smart and brave on his venture through the woods.While Matty is in the woods he is getting all types of cuts and scratches but he is still trying to move forward and get kira and himself back to the village. Although matty is very hurt and can barely move his arms once they get out of the forest he uses his power on kira so her foot can heel and she live. Matty takes his own life just so he can save kira and heel her leg. Matty also does this out of compassion for seer because he saved his
