The animals can not do anything about it because the pigs are in control and making sure nobody disagrees with them. Napoleon starts to abuse his power by working Boxer to a very weak state. Napoleon tells the animals that Boxer is going to the vet but by the looks of the van that arrived to get him he was not going to end up coming back. “The van had previously been the property of the knacker and had been bought by the veterinary surgeon, who had not painted the name out.”(Orwell ) Squealer had told this lie to the animals when they questioned the appearance of the van. Napoleon, Squealer and all of the other pigs continue to ruin what Animal Farm was really supposed to be about with manipulation and control.
Manipulation and control are widely common throughout the entire book of animal farm. The pigs take over the farm and slowly killing off the animals who were a threat to their plan. They began to walk on their hind legs, wear clothes, hangout with people, and live in the house. These were all against the Seven Commandments they had created in the beginning but they manipulated the animals into thinking that everything they did was okay and only they could do it.
