Family is something we all need to make us feel like we belong, loved and not to feel lonely. Having a family is knowing that when we feel lonely we have someone to go to. In the film Million Dollar Baby Maggie Fitzgerald was brought up with no father in a poor house where there was no love and care for each other. Throughout the film it shows us how Maggie is lonely through the way the lighting, sounds and language are used such as having dark lighting for whenever Maggie is alone at home or when she is working and also have music which makes us feel the emotions that Maggie is going through such as loneliness, sadness, unwanted etc. Language is a big role in the movie which shows us the way that Maggie gets treated by her family such as in (scene 11) it is seen how her mother gets angry that Maggie bought her a house and said that she should’ve gave them the money instead. Maggie has no one who believes in her until she started getting trained by Frankie and that’s when a father daughter relationship grew and she was able to not feel as lonely due to having him around treating her like she belongs and that she has someone to look up to and to be with
