For starters, Lennie is up first. People would probably call him dumb and stupid, but Lennie has a mental disorder that some people get. You can be the age of thirty, but have the intelligence of a ten year old child. That is just the disorder. Lennie is big and strong as a full grown adult, but he has the mindset of a ten year old. He does know the difference between what is right and wrong. “Curley slashed at his eyes. The big face was covered with blood. George yelled again, ‘I said get him.’ Curley’s fist was swinging when Lennie reached for it. The next minute Curley was flopping like a fish on a line.” This shows that Lennie is very strong, even when he is beaten down. Candy is an old man, who had an old dog with him for years. He is missing a hand from a farming accident. Candy was lonely because of his dog he had. “A shot sounded in the distance.
