Using Humility and Emotion to as an Edge. In the great epic The Odyssey, Odysseus shows great humility and emotion as he communicates with his friendly peers. As Odysseus journeys down to the House of Death and speaks with the ghost of Achilles he pays respect to Achilles as he says,” But you, Achilles, there's not a man in the world more blest than you- there has been, never will be one" (11. 547-549). Odysseus, known as a big brave and gory figure, shows humility as he talks to the ghost Achilles. He displays humility because he shows the reader that he respects the elder, deceased god. Additionally, Odysseus, a man of tactics, uses humility as an advantage as he greets Athena ,"Greetings friend... I pray to you like a god, I fall before
