Forbidden Love In Romeo And Juliet Essay

When forbidden love crosses two young individuals, the best is not intended for them. William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy and romance. In the play, two young lovers named Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet, cross paths and end up falling head over heels for each other. However, their families have been adversaries for years but that does not stop them. They still pursue their dangerous love for each other behind their loved ones back. This results in deaths of them both due to not being able to live without one another and the idea of being married to someone else. These two lovers should not have pursued their love because the feuding of the families would cause more heavy problems. Therefore, by pursing their love the hatred between the family these two households have created tension and problems in the streets of Verona. It effects the possibility of the two-lover’s relationship and it is very risky hiding their relationship from both families. When Tybalt and Benvolio encounter each other Tybalt uses aggressive words, “What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee” (7). This is a perfect example showing the loathing of the families, Tybalt hates peace along with the Montagues. After Juliet and Romeo meet the Nurse introduces him, “His name is Romeo, and a Montague, the only son of your great enemy” (45). The nurse is revealing who Romeo is, Juliet is in love with a member of her enemy’s family. Although, the dislike between the families are clearly shown this does not stop Romeo and Juliet from pursuing their love.
