In The Odyssey, Homer shows the reader that disobeying orders can lead to fatal endings. When Odysseus disobeys Circe’s orders, he cost six men their lives. Since he disobeyed orders, he lost the trust of his men who slaughtered the Sun’s cattle. The series of disobedience cost Odysseus to loose his men, his ship, and became a broken man. Even though this is an Epic Poem, these types of scenarios happen all the time. When people drink and drive they put their lives and other people’s lives in jeopardy. Even though it is a law, just like how Odysseus disobeys his own orders, people disobey the law.
