Unlike what most people would expect from a Thane 's wife, Lady Macbeth was responsible for planning and persuading Macbeth to murder Duncan. The morning after the murder, Macduff finds the dead body and is shocked. Lady Macbeth comes to the scene and pretends to be clueless of the situation and asks Macduff about what is going on. Macduff, believing that she truly didn 't know anything about the murder that took place in her home replied with, "O gentle lady, Tis not for you to hear what I can speak"(I.vii.62-63) meaning that he didn 't want to deliver that tragic news of Duncan 's death. It 's ironic because Macduff had the perception that a Lady like Macbeth 's wife should never experience or hear such horrifying news of the death of their king. However, it was all her deeds and planning that was responsible for the death of Scotland 's king. Lady Macbeth was sly and even pretended to faint several minutes after she heard of the news. When she realizes her husband may be talking and drawing too much attention to himself regarding the murder, she says "Help me hence,ho!"(II.iii.138). The crowd of people gathered around her then diverted their attention to Lady Macbeth, instead of Macbeth. The irony surrounding Lady Macbeth 's character shows how you can never tell a person 's real intentions just by their appearance. The witches ' prophecies shows that one can 't believe that everything they hear is completely true; there is always a catch, for Macbeth it was that his kingship wouldn 't last long. The hallucinations represent how some things seen can 't be trusted. In Macbeth 's case, he was confused whether he was in was reality or not. This theme is shown even now in modern society. Someone walking down the halls may mask a smile on their face, while hiding their problems on the inside . No one can never know the true story of someone by judging their looks. It is impossible to know one 's true intentions just by appearances, their true thoughts are kept hidden on the
