What Is The Conflict In To Kill A Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, tells the tale of a single father living with his two kids in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama. At first glance, a story such as this one may seem as if it is merely attempting to give the readers a good thrill. But in reality, this novel provides insight into the harsh reality of our world, and addresses many topics that others fail to pay attention to. After analyzing the text in depth, the realization can be made that different factors in the story such as the time period, Atticus’ job, and characters such as Bob Ewell and Boo Radley all symbolize conflicts in different ways. The main character in the story is Scout Finch, who is not a typical girl in many ways. She is a more of a tomboy, who loves playing games, and is constantly curious about the things in life that she has yet to understand. As she grows up, she has many factors that influence her ways of thinking, and make her realize that she often must overlook the stereotypes that society places on certain individuals and races. The book was intended to bring attention to the fact that everyone, no matter how they look or what their skin color is, are all human beings.
